Carl shared very little with his son, Jeff, but he did with Mandi, his granddaughter. Carl was quoted as saying, “Hate is hate and it lives on. The fight for justice never ends.” Both Mandi and Jeff reflected on this statement.
Mandi said those words spur her on to seek justice. Mandi’s perspective is especially unique in all of this. Her two grandfathers share a link. On her dad’s side, Carl was a survivor, and her maternal grandfather was there fighting on D Day to help free those in concentration and death camps.
