Interview w/ Edie Silver (daughter) w/ Evan J. Miller (actor)
Henry Silberstern’s daughter Edie Silver shared so many memories of her dad. He didn’t share as much with her about his time as one of the 89 Jewish boys spared by Dr. Joseph Mengele to serve as slave laborers in the Auschwitz-Birkenau death camp. He did share his desires for her to not hate others, to give back, and to continue to tell the true stories of the Holocaust.
Evan J. Miller is the actor who portrayed Henry in the play. He and Edie had a meaningful and touching conversation while she shared photos with him. They promised to stay in touch with each other.
That promise was one that on some level, physically or emotionally can never be broken by the actors. They were changed forever.
